RAINPROOF
Digital water protection advisory tool for drained soils.
In the RAINPROOF project, we aimed to answer the question:
"Can we minimize pesticide leaching through drain pipes by taking field conditions and weather forecast into account before application?"
The project was a 3 year project and involved 100's of Daisy simulations carried out an a super computing giving information on pesticide leaching through drains after application on 2.6 million application days. Three generated weather series with 3000 years of weather representing conditions at Copenhagen, Denmark; Elde, Netherlands and Chemnitz, Germany was used. The weather series can be found here.
Some of the results from the project are presented in the paper by Vuaille et al., 2022.
